Abstract

This study compares the engine power and noise levels of a 2017 Honda Vario 125 K60 motorcycle when using a standard exhaust, an aftermarket exhaust with a silent decibel valve, and racing mode. The study used an experimental approach on a single motorcycle. Power was measured with a dynamometer at 5,000–8,500 rpm with three repetitions for each rpm and exhaust configuration, while noise levels were recorded using a sound level meter at 1,700–8,500 rpm. Data are presented descriptively and the statistical test results reported in the source are summarized with caution because the unit of analysis and the repetition structure are not yet fully clear. The highest average power recorded in the table occurs in racing mode at 7,000 rpm (11.50 HP), while the peak power value reported from the dynotest graph is 11.66 HP at 7,250 rpm. Racing mode noise increases from 82.1 dB at 1,700 rpm to 102.2 dB at 8,500 rpm. The reported ANOVA test showed p=0.956 for power and p<0. Descriptively, racing mode produces the highest peak power and the highest noise; silent mode has a noise profile closer to the standard exhaust than racing mode.
